About

About Rook Technology Consulting

Principal-led IT consulting for organizations that have outgrown informal technology management.

Rook Technology Consulting helps organizations bring structure to technology environments that have grown faster than their processes, ownership, or documentation. The work is practical: understand the current state, identify what matters most, and leave the client with clear decisions and materials they can use.

Founded and led by Jeremiah Reed

Rook is founded and led by Jeremiah Reed, an experienced IT Director and hands-on technology leader. His background includes leading technology operations in a complex, multi-site healthcare environment, with experience spanning Microsoft 365, IT service management, SaaS governance, vendor management, employee lifecycle processes, documentation, project delivery, and technology roadmaps.

Before entering IT, Jeremiah served in a U.S. Army communications role. That experience shaped his emphasis on operational discipline, clear communication, and systems that remain dependable when the environment is under pressure.

Rook is intentionally principal-led. Clients work directly with the consultant responsible for understanding the problem, developing the recommendations, and delivering the work.

Operating principles

How this work gets done

The goal is a technology environment that works reliably, scales with the organization, and does not require heroics to maintain.

Good technology advice starts with understanding how an organization actually operates, not how it is supposed to operate on paper.

Every recommendation has to be something the team can actually implement. A roadmap that requires resources you do not have is not a roadmap.

Common questions

Common questions

Do you only provide assessments?

No. Assessments are a common starting point, but implementation support, documentation, vendor coordination, project oversight, and ongoing advisory work can be scoped separately.

Does Rook replace an internal IT team or managed service provider?

Usually not. Rook works alongside internal teams, executives, and vendors to address operational gaps, improve governance, and move important initiatives forward.

Do you work only with healthcare organizations?

No. Healthcare experience informs Rook's approach to privacy, continuity, risk, and operational discipline, but the services also apply to professional services, nonprofits, distributed organizations, and other growing businesses.

Can engagements be completed remotely?

Most assessments, advisory work, documentation, and project oversight can be delivered remotely. Any onsite requirement should be discussed during scoping.
